Dr. John Curtin was recently named the Associate Director for Academic Affairs and Education for the NYU Cancer Institute. Dr. Curtin, who is director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, will work with other senior leaders at the Cancer Institute to develop a campus-wide oncology curriculum that enhances the training experience at all levels by integrating the expertise of our departments and various disciplines.

Working with Fellowship directors, he will redesign the rotations and courses to provide a more comprehensive and multidisciplinary training program. He will also assist in the development of mentored research for oncology fellows, including the creation of an additional year for selected individuals. In addition, with Franco Muggia, M.D., director of Medical Oncology, Dr. Curtin is formulating a mentoring plan for junior faculty in all disciplines to enhance personal and professional success in an academic environment. He is also the new chair of the Cancer Institute Membership Committee, responsible for the review and approval of all Institute membership.
