Dr. James Grifo Comments on a Device for Twittering Fetal Movements
April 22, 2009
NYU graduate student Corey Menscher is gaining attention for developing the Kickbee, an elastic band made for pregnant women with vibration sensors that automatically update Twitter whenever the baby kicks. Dr. James Grifo, a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the NYU Langone Medical Center, said he has hope for devices such as the Kickbee. "The quest to define confirmation of fetal well-being in a noninvasive way has been under research by many investigators," Grifo said. "It is hopeful that this type of technology may provide us with patterns that document fetal well-being or impending fetal distress."
